Come enjoy the ride through Jerusalem’s history, from 111 BC to 2000, taking place in a theatre style hall at the Beit Agron house on Hilel Street in the heart of Jerusalem. You will be impressed as you watch and feel Jerusalem’s past being brought into the current time in a chronological order. This fascinating attraction, which is great for people of all ages, has been providing entertainment for viewers since 1998.

Each viewer will have the opportunity to enjoy the 30 minute show within a seat that has the ability to move in six different directions, and headphones for the surround sound audio portion of the performance, creating an interactive experience. With the strategic movement of the chairs and the special effects shown on the panoramic screens, a realistic portrayal of Jerusalem 3,000 years ago comes to life. Ori Yardeni, ITA’s Director of Creativity, created the Time Elevator journey idea in hope that an audience can experience an interesting and visual depiction of the unique history of Jerusalem. Chaim Topol, star of Fiddler-on-the-Roof, leads the audience through an interactive experience of Jerusalem’s history. Beginning with the times of King David and Solomon, Topol guides us through the birth of Christianity, the emergence of Islam, and the six day war in the year 1967. The audience will be led through a visual experience of the destruction of the city, including images of earthquakes and fires, the conflict between prophet Jeremiah and King Zedekiah, and the story of the Roman Conquest. The journey comes to completion with Jerusalem and how it is today.

As the show aims to attract viewers on an international level, the commentary is translated into the following languages: Hebrew, English, Russian, French, German and Spanish. The Time Elevator show is available daily running every 40 minutes: Sunday through Thursday from 10 am to 5 pm, Friday from 10 am to 2 pm, and Saturday from 12 pm to 6 pm. Keep in mind that children under the age of five are not permitted to view the show, and that there are stationary seats for those with heart problems, are pregnant, and who experience motion sickness.
